Hair oil does work. It just never reached the roots.

Hair grows from roots under your skin. When you rub oil in with your hands, most of it sticks to the hair, not the scalp. And the little bit that does reach your scalp gets blocked by a layer of natural oil, dead skin, and old product sitting on top.

  • Fuller-looking hair at the part, where you check every morning.
  • Gentle enough for a scalp that's already going through it.
  • Gets the oil down to the roots, and fits into the shower you already take.

“After my second baby, my hair was coming out in handfuls. Every time I brushed it or showered, there was more in the drain. I got this and used it every night for 3 weeks, and I started to see little baby hairs coming in; it looks fuller now.”

“I use it in the shower with my shampoo. The little rubber fingers squeeze my head like when the hairdresser washes my hair. In a few minutes, all the tightness in my head is gone. Some nights I use it in bed and I fall asleep before it turns off.”

“My rosemary oil used to just sit on my hair and rub off on my pillow. Now it goes right into my scalp while I massage it in. After 3 weeks, I saw little baby hairs along my part, and my hairdresser noticed too.”

Scrub off the gunk that's in the way

72 soft rubber fingers push your hair apart and scrub the oil, flakes, and old product off your scalp. That gunk is what stops your hair oil from soaking in.

Put it on your scalp, not your hair

There's a little tank in the middle that holds your own hair oil. As you massage, it drips the oil out of 8 tiny holes right onto your scalp, at the roots where your hair grows.

Rub it in while your scalp is warm

The squeezing motion and the red light keep the blood flowing and rub the oil in for the whole 10 minutes. Not the 20 seconds you'd last doing it with your fingers.

Still got questions?

I've tried rosemary oil and capsules. Why would this be different?

Because it changes delivery, not the ingredient. By hand, most oil ends up on the hair and buildup blocks the rest. Mend lifts the buildup first, drops the serum onto bare scalp through 8 points and works it in for 10 minutes with even pressure. Same bottle, different place.

I'm shedding after having a baby. Is it safe now?

Yes. There's nothing absorbed into your body and nothing hormonal. Use the gentlest speed, and if you're using a serum, check that it's one you're happy with while breastfeeding. Postpartum shedding usually peaks around month 3–5 and settles on its own.

My part is widening after 45. Will this help?

That change is common in perimenopause and menopause, and it's rarely talked about. Mend won't change hormones. It will give the scalp the three things it's been missing: a clean surface, your serum at the root, and daily mechanical stimulation. Most women in this group notice the scalp difference within weeks and the hair difference over a couple of weeks.

Can I use it with minoxidil or a prescription serum?

The reservoir takes any liquid oil or serum, and gentle massage after application is exactly what dermatologists recommend for spreading topicals. Use the lowest speed with medicated products, and if you have a prescription, follow your doctor's guidance.

Does the oil make my hair greasy?

Only if you use too much. 3ml at the root is far less than a hand-poured application, and it goes on the scalp, not the lengths. Most people use it on wash nights or with a light serum on dry hair.

I'm still nursing, so half of what people recommend for hair was off the table for me. I wanted something that didn't go in my body. This is just massage, light, and my own oil - that was the appeal. I use a drop of castor oil on the slow setting at night after the baby's down, three times a week. It's gentle, it doesn't tangle if I keep it on the scalp and not the ends, and it's become the signal to my brain that the day is over. My hair looks thicker at the crown, my scalp is calm, and I sleep faster. I don't know which of those I'd give up last.

My hairdresser has done my hair for eleven years. Last month she stopped mid-blowout and asked what I'd changed. I'd been using the Mend Scalpe Massage Comb three times a week for about ten weeks - fill it with my serum, use it in the shower, let the ten-minute timer run out. I said 'it looks fuller?' and she said 'it looks healthier, like the scalp is different.' That's the part I'd tell any woman my age: it's not just about the hair, it's the skin under it. I'd been moisturizing my face for thirty years and never once thought about my scalp

The Mend gives you such a great relaxing head massage. It has a whirling sound i found very soothing. The instructions say don't use for my than 10 minutes at a time and I found that hard to do as I was so relaxed so now I set a timer to remind to switch off you can use it multiple times a day. I did not get my hair stuck in the unit but I do have very fine hair. It arrived in a nice box and would make a great gift.

This brush is SO AMAZING!!! It is super easy to use. It feels great on the scalp. It massages while using red light therapy on the scalp! I highly recommend this brush. Add your oil to the brush too simple to do. I will be using this as my daily brush!

Nobody warned me about the four-month mark. I'd run my hand through my hair in the shower and come out with a handful. What actually changed things was the Mend Scalp Massage Comb. I fill the little tank with my own oil, and it kneads it straight into my scalp while I'm already in the shower, so it's zero extra minutes, which is the only kind of routine a new mom keeps. I'm not going to tell you it's a miracle - the first two weeks I actually saw a bit more shedding, which the box says is normal as your scalp resets - but my part looks fuller now, my scalp doesn't itch, and honestly it's the one calm thing in my day."

At 51 my ponytail got thin enough that I stopped wearing one. My doctor said 'that's hormones,' which isn't a plan. I didn't want pills and I wasn't spending $900 on a laser hat. The Mend Scalp Massage Comb was in good price and it does three things at once - the massage, the red light, and it drips whatever serum I choose right onto the roots instead of me rubbing it into my hair. What sold me was that it takes any oil. No refills, no capsules. Three months in, my stylist asked what I'd changed. I'll say 'fuller-looking' because I'm careful about words, but I'm wearing the ponytail again."

I'd tried everything topical and quit every single time for the same reason: the mess, and the feeling that it was all sitting on my hair instead of my scalp. That's the part nobody tells you - if it's on the strands or on top of buildup, it's doing nothing. The Mend Scalp Masssage Comb clears the buildup and puts the serum on the actual scalp in the same pass, then works it in. I'm using less product and it's going where it's supposed to. My scalp feels clean for the first time in years, and I've stuck with it for four months because it's built into a shower I'm already taking."

After my first I lost a shocking amount of hair at month four and did nothing about it because I didn't know what to do. I bought the Mend Scalp Massager Comb. I'm not going to claim it stopped it - it's a natural process, but my scalp went into it healthy and cared for instead of neglected, and the regrowth phase looks fuller and came in cleaner than last time. Ten minutes in the shower, my own oil, no refills to reorder. If you're pregnant and reading this, get it now instead of at 2am in a panic like I did the first time

I was excited to receive this scalp massaging brush as I had read a few reviews and they were nothing but positive! I have only used this a couple of times so there is no obvious results as far as the claims for hair growth from regular scalp massages just yet but I can say that it is really soothing and relaxing using this brush on your hair. It has three modes and 72 massaging bristles. It is not too big and is comfortable to hold and it is also waterproof so you can also use this to shampoo your hair with.

I think I prefer my other powered head massagers but this one can deliver oils though I haven't tried it yet. It does feel good and makes about the same amount of noise which isn't too bad. It's waterproof. It's a little heavy. It comes with a drawstring bag and charges via USB-C. It was nicely packaged in a sealed bag bubble bag and another taped box. Overall I like it. I can't factor price into my review as it's currently unavailable.

Despite being well-built and having approved lllt, the massage function needs improvement as it can be painful, making it hard to use comfortably.
